EXPERIENCE MATTERS

Mary Ann was born in Long Beach California and obtained her law degree at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. For over 30 years she has been a Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney.

Working in the Hardcore Gang Unit she prosecuted numerous violent gang members for murder, attempted murder and assault. She has tried 34 murder cases including special circumstances and capital cases.

Mary Ann has extensive trial experience, obtaining justice for victims in over 100 jury trials in addition to thousands of other cases as a prosecutor throughout her career. As a supervisor of the Sexual Assault, Child Abuse & Domestic Violence unit she has interviewed hundreds of victims of child molestaion and rape in order to better seek justice for them in the courtroom. Mary Ann is currently assigned to the Early Disposition Program where she evaluates hundreds of felony cases a month, negotiates appropriate dispositions in every case, obtains restitution for victims, obtains discovery from over 34 law enforcement agencies, supervises law clerks and conducts preliminary hearings and baill motions.

 

PERSONAL

Mary Ann enjoys spending her free time with her husband, two teenage children, family and friends. She volunteers her time at the high school and with her children’s sports teams. She is especially proud to be a founding member of The National League of Young Men, South Coast Chapter, an organization that has opened up more opportunities for boys to volunteer in the community. Involvement in National Charity League allows Mary Ann to work alongside her daughter in service to those in need here locally.
